What is Zuma?

Zuma is a movement coach for older adults, designed to guide strength, balance and mobility exercises at home through a phone. The planned experience combines exercise programs, camera-based movement feedback and a coach you can talk to.

Who is Zuma for?

Zuma is being designed for older adults who want to work toward everyday movement goals, such as getting out of a chair, managing stairs or enjoying a longer walk. Family members can help someone get started, while the experience stays focused on the person exercising.

How does Zuma guide exercises at home?

The planned Zuma experience uses your phone camera to follow your movements and voice guidance to coach you through a routine. Place your phone on a steady surface with your body in view, then follow the cues. You will be able to ask the coach to pause, slow down or repeat an instruction.

What exercise programs does Zuma include?

Zuma’s preview shows programs for everyday strength, stair confidence, balance and mobility. Example movements include gentle arm raises, supported standing exercises and seated movements. Program content, session lengths and progression are still being developed.

What do I need to use Zuma?

The Zuma prototype is designed around an iPhone, a steady place to put it and enough space for your body to be visible to the camera. Some exercises may use a stable chair for seated movements or support. No wearable sensors are planned. Supported devices will be confirmed before launch.

When can I try Zuma?

Zuma is currently a prototype and is not publicly available. There is no confirmed launch date. This website previews the planned experience; the Get early access button currently provides information rather than collecting a registration.

Does Zuma record or upload my exercise video?

Zuma’s planned approach is to process camera-based movement tracking on your phone rather than upload exercise video. Camera, voice and data handling details will be explained before registration opens. This preview website does not access your camera or microphone.

Is Zuma a replacement for physical therapy?

No. Zuma is not a replacement for physical therapy, diagnosis or treatment from a qualified professional. The prototype has not been clinically validated and does not provide individual medical advice.
